Step 1 - Embrecing strategy
Strategies for Building a Euroleague Fantasy Team
In order to crack the secret of the game we will try to examine some possible options for building a team. The to obvious options are:
-
The "Stars and Scrubs" strategy: This strategy involves drafting five high-value players and five low-value players. The goal is to maximize your team's total points by having a few players who can score a lot of points, while also having a few players who are unlikely to score many points but are still relatively cheap.
-
The "Middle-of-the-Road" strategy: This strategy involves drafting 10 players with average value. The goal is to have a balanced team with no major weaknesses.

Advantages and Disadvantages of Each Strategy
The "Stars and Scrubs" Strategy
Advantages:
-
This strategy has the potential to score the most points of any strategy.
-
It is relatively easy to implement.
-
Easy to pick a captain.
Disadvantages:
-
It is difficult to predict which players will be high-value and which players will be low-value in each single round. If just one player has a bad night or doesn't came up cause a last minute injury, you lose a lot.
-
If you execute this strategy in the middle of season you lose the upside value of the players.

The "Middle-of-the-Road" Strategy
Advantages:
-
Can switch easily between the startings and bench without lossing many points.
-
It is not as difficult to predict which players will be average-value.
Disadvantages:
-
This strategy does not have the potential to score as many points as the "Stars and Scrubs" strategy. [Potenial points - Average of 95 (6 startings x 10 points + 10 doubled by captain + 5 coach points + 4 bench players x 5)].

In attamp to be more presice and realistic we developed approach that compromised the both method -
The "Hybrid" strategy: This strategy involves drafting three high-value players, three low-value players, and four players with average value. The goal is to get the best of both worlds by having a few stars, a few scrubs, and a few middle-of-the-road players.
Advantages:
-
It is relatively consistent, while still having the potential to score a lot of points.
-
3 options for picking a captain that probably won't be in the same T.
Disadvantages:
-
This strategy does not have the potential to score as many points as the "Stars and Scrubs" and needed more effort (and luck) to find to average player that will step up each round.

Conclusion
The best strategy for building a Euroleague fantasy team depends on your individual playing style and risk tolerance. If you are looking for the team with the potential to score the most points, the "Stars and Scrubs" strategy is the best option. However, this strategy is also the most risky, as it is difficult to predict which players will be high-value and which players will be low-value.
If you are looking for a more consistent team, the "Middle-of-the-Road" strategy is a good option. This strategy is not as risky as the "Stars and Scrubs" strategy, but it also does not have the same potential to score as many points.
The "Hybrid" strategy is a good compromise between the two extremes. This strategy has the potential to score a lot of points, while still being relatively consistent. Next article will expand more about picking specific player each role/position.
